"Tarpbag" is a handcrafted bag from surplus tarpaulin fabrics sourced from İstanbul Manufacturers Bazaar (İMÇ). Our mission is to showcase the remarkable transformation of discarded materials into practical, everyday objects. As İMÇ faces a decline in significance despite being a unique gem for Istanbul, we aimed to capture and immortalize the essence of this place through a distinctive card design on each bag and also one of our priority was to minimize the machine power and enhance the aesthetic appeal of single stitch. By infusing the everyday bag with handcrafted and upcycled materials, we did not only contribute to sustainability but also encapsulated the spirit of İMÇ in a tangible and meaningful way.
